The list of airfields under threat or with uncertainty hanging over them continues to be long and protection is far still weaker than GAAC would like to see. Those have fallen by the wayside and seem likely to serve as a warning that the fight will continue for many years to come, while even those with no threat have to figure out how to remain profitable and retain good relations with local communities.

Work will continue including the involvement of the highest levels of government to create a recognised Network of Airfields and move towards hard law protection, and as the APPG for GA gathers pace again after last December’s election, it would be nice to think it can start to spur progress in a similar way to 2019.

GAAC continues to be fully in support and willing to provide expertise and advice, and to chair some of the APPG Working Groups as it has done in the past couple of years.
