For the Government statement in early April where Health Secretary Matt Hancock committed to increasing testing to 100,000 tests a day by the end of April, please CLICK HERE.
The government is planning to have 48 testing sites open by the end of April, including drive-through locations. It is difficult to find a good labelled map of these, or even a list, at present – presumably because the government does not want people just turning up at them.
They are still only for essential workers and their families, as of the end of April. Appointments can be booked on the government website by employers or individuals, or by referral by the NHS, who can be contacted on their 111 number if you have symptoms, or are self-isolating because someone in your family has symptoms.
For Government Guidance on Testing please CLICK HERE to visit uk.gov. This also includes a list of who is currently accepted as an essential worker, and the booking site.
Home Testing Kits are now also becoming available and can be ordered on the same site.
